This course equips Field Training Officers (FTOs) with essential skills and techniques to effectively train new officers. Based on a modified “San Jose” model, the training covers key topics including program models, demands on FTOs, adult learning principles, liability issues, and performance evaluations. Participants will learn to complete Daily Observation Reports (DORs), conduct training briefs, and develop scenarios and training plans. Upon completion, FTOs will be more confident and professional in applying their training to guide new officers.
