Mark Lamb steps down as Sheriff’s Association president Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb announced Thursday that he will step down as president of the Arizona Sheriff’s Association, effective immediately. Yavapai County Sheriff David Rhodes, the current association vice president, takes over as the group’s leader. Lamb was elected president last year and has been actively attempting to secure more money from the state Legislature for sheriffs around the state to deal with the fentanyl crisis sweeping the nation. “I am honored to have led the Sheriff’s Association, which is filled with great people serving the people of Arizona,” Lamb said. Rhodes, the first-term sheriff in Yavapai, is the new president of the Sheriff’s Association. He praised Lamb for his steadfast work advocating for law enforcement across Arizona. “We are going to miss Mark's leadership,” Rhodes said. “He always makes time for people and welcomes everyone at the table. His vocal support for the rule of law is an inspiration to his colleagues.”
