Today, the Arizona Sheriffs Association (ASA) honored Senator Jeff Flake for the valor he showed at the congressional baseball game practice shooting earlier this summer. Cochise County Sheriff and ASA President Mark Dannels released the following statement: “The Arizona Sheriffs Association formally recognized U.S. Senator Jeff Flake today for the bravery and compassion he showed during the tragic shooting at the congressional baseball game practice in June of this year. The ASA appreciates and applauds the courage and quick-thinking Senator Flake demonstrated in his actions immediately following the shooting. We thank him for his service and for his commitment to not only the public safety of our constituents but also for his commitment to the personal safety of one of our nation’s leaders who was in danger.”
